Edulastic is a web-based formative assessment creation tool offering educators advanced authoring features when forming quality questions for students. By offering free content and various questioning types this tool allows students to experience the digital assessment format that will be needed during state testing. There are many different question types available through Edulastic. Our focus is on Passage-Based questions.
(This is a different link than the past year. All of your assessments will still be available.)
2. Create or sign into your account.
If you already have an account, your username and password will be the same.
New teachers will need to create an account.
3. Create a new assignment or continue working on a previously created assignment.
4. Edulastic has many questions and assessments already created. For today, let's click Create an Assignment from Scratch.
5. Use the filters on the left to locate your grade and subject area standards. Then, select Create on the desired standard.
6. In the question type area, select ELA Tech Enhanced. Next, locate and select Passage Based. Notice the question mark in the upper right hand corner of each question type. Edulastic has created how-to videos for each question type.
7. The first part of creating a passage based is to create the passage(s). Once your passage(s) has been created, click Save!
8. Once you have clicked Save, Add a New Question for this passage will an option. Click it.
9. You are taken back to the select standard screen. Click create for the desired standard. (Remember you can go back to the Passage by clicking Back to Passage.)
10. You have the option to add multiple question types to a passage based question. For today, let's click Essay Type.
11. Create your question. You can add Tags, Solution or Help Text. Click Save.
12. Enter the DOK, Difficultly Level and the Standard(s).
13. Add additional questions for this passage if desired.
14. Click Save when you are finished adding/creating questions.
15. Once you have created all of your questions, click Review.
16. Review the passage and question(s), View as student or Save in Drafts. Once complete, click Next.
